On May 3, 2000 the first geocache was placed by Dave Ulmer in America. Less than two months later the first geocache was hidden in Canada at East River, Nova Scotia and it is still active today.
This geocoin from 2015 celebrated 15 years of geocaching in Canada. It features XV (the Roman numerals for 15) around the front outside ring along with the icons for various geocache types below translucent enamel. Maple leaves on both the front and back give it an added Canadian flavour.
