A New Group Coin, but Act Quickly to Participate!

People who plan to host a geocaching event sometimes think it would be cool if they could make a custom geocoin for it. Unfortunately, making a trackable geocoin has become an expensive endeavour that takes at least a month, and with 100 coins being the usual minimum number to mint, only large events can really afford to do it. However, for people in Canada planning to host a CITO event in April, we're proposing an alternative that lowers the barrier to entry.

If you've browsed our site you've probably seen our trackable GeoMedals, which are laser engraved like a wooden nickel but made out of metal like a geocoin. This year for CITO week we have created a group project where you can get a trackable CITO GeoMedal engraved with the name of your CITO event. Many group geocoin projects have a minimum order of 50 coins, but in our project the minimum is just 5, making it feasible for anyone. The price for five is $9 CAD each, but drops to $8.50 if you buy more, and several price break levels can bring them down to $7 CAD on larger orders. They will be ordered though on March 21, so the deadline to take part is almost here! To see all the details and participate visit our new group coin section.

Because CITO week is fast approaching we have decided to limit the project to Canadian events; with longer shipping time to the U.S. and abroad I wouldn't want an event's order to not arrive in time. When CITO week comes in the fall though another group coin will probably be organized with an earlier start date to allow wider participation.
